She picks the berries lazily, staining her fingers and lips bright red, laughingly brushing away the flies and ignoring the bees. Her green eyes sparkle, and her cheeks, red from the sun and youth, glow with health. He keeps an eye on her as he scribbles in his notebook, struggling vainly to capture the scene in a poem, manipulating the word to fit the pattern.
